SaaS offers organizations speed, flexibility and almost zero maintenance requirements. But it also presents a potential liability – the solution they use is dependent on the vendor that provides it. When GE announced it was closing its Centricity Advance EHR SaaS program, citing its small market share and channel confusion with GE's other EHR products, medical practices felt the pinch. Their only options were to find a new solution, or migrate their data to one of GE's very different and more expensive systems. Considering that the lifespan of GE's Centricity Advance offering was less than 2 years, some physicians didn't take that too well.
Automation Centre has been developing award-winning business solutions since 1994, and earlier this year we released version 4.0 of our own Web based solution, TrackerSuite.Net. It is available both as SaaS as well as a licensed solution that organizations can host internally. Aside from eliminating security concerns about using Cloud based applications, the organization is also freed of any worries about their service disappearing. The software is in their hands, along with its source code (which is provided with licensing).
